From Wikipedia:

Among cat owners there is considerable talk about tortoiseshell cats having a personality set apart from other colorations. This is referred to as "tortitude". Tortoiseshell cats are said to be strong-willed, fiercely independent, hot-tempered and very possessive of their owners. They are also said to be more vocal and likely to hiss, meow loudly or purr strongly to make their needs known. Calico cats are also said to have these traits but to a lesser extent.

One of my oldest, dearest friends--upon reading the above--said: "I think you might be a tortie as well."

Personality traits: Neurotic, affectionate, seething with rage/frustration (remarkably, often at the same time).

I'm kind to animals, close to my very large extended family, procrastinate (and swear) like a motherfucker.
I am a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, a friend. I am a writer, a reader, a lover of fine words.
I am a couch potato, a geek, a triathlete. I am shy, hot-tempered, impatient, and kind.

Obligatory Friend's List note:

As noted above, I do tend to be shy, so I don't generally 'friend' people back automatically unless I've gotten to know them a bit (or have a recommendation from someone I know). But if you feel we have things in common, please feel free to comment and let me get to know you.

If I've recently removed you, it is probably because you either never post or we never interact. It's not at all personal, and if you were reading my posts and are upset to be shut out, please let me know.
